Announcing Caller ID – Nokia Lumia

One of legacy Nokia phones’ cool features is announcing caller name / number along with the ringtone. I thought Nokia has lost this feature on Windows Phone O/S, later I have found we can use this feature in all Lumias.

To enable this feature, make sure your language/region is configured to English (United States)

You can make sure via Settings –> System-> language + region –> Phone language: English (United States)

Then back to Settings menu –> system-> ease of access: Enable Speech for phone accessibility

That’s it.

Additionally, By turning on Read aloud incoming text messages on the Speech settings you can assign announcing option for incoming messages.
